Plastic Milled Parts Made to Order
Plastic milled parts from the manufacturer, POM, PA, PEEK, PE-UHMW and PTFE CNC milled. Dry machining without coolant, contamination-free, from 1 piece.
Why Plastic Milled Parts from the Manufacturer?
Plastic milled parts made to order: Lightweight, chemical resistance and electrical insulation make engineering plastics indispensable in many industries. As your manufacturer, we mill plastic parts dry, without coolant, without contamination.
On our DMG Mori Ecomill 70 (travel 700 × 560 × 510 mm) we manufacture plastic milled parts from STEP files, DXF drawings or PDF. Sharp single-flute end mills and adapted feed rates prevent melting and burr formation.
Plastics for CNC Milled Parts
We mill all common engineering and high-performance plastics. Material selection depends on temperature resistance, wear and certifications.
POM (Polyoxymethylene)
The classic for milled parts: Highest stiffness among thermoplastics, low moisture absorption, excellent machinability. For gears, bearings, guides.
PA 6 / PA 66 (Polyamide)
Tough, wear-resistant and vibration-dampening. For bushings, guide rollers and housings. Watch moisture absorption, we store PA dry.
PEEK (Polyetheretherketone)
High-performance plastic up to 250°C continuous temperature. FDA and biocompatible. For medical, aerospace and chemical industries.
PE-UHMW
Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene: Extremely wear-resistant, self-lubricating, food-safe (FDA). For slide rails, chain guides and transport.
PTFE (Teflon)
Chemically inert, lowest friction coefficient of all plastics (µ = 0.04). For seals, bearings and chemical apparatus.
PVC / PVDF
Chemically resistant, weldable, cost-effective. PVDF for aggressive media (acids, alkalis). For pipe fittings, valves and tank parts.
Benefits of Plastic Milled Parts
Dry Machining
Plastic milled parts are machined without coolant. No cleaning, no contamination, ideal for medical and food technology.
Lightweight
Engineering plastics weigh only 1/5 to 1/7 of steel. Weight savings up to 85% with comparable function.
Chemical Resistance
PTFE, PVDF and PEEK resist acids, alkalis and solvents. No corrosion protection needed.
Electrical Insulation
Plastic milled parts insulate electrically and thermally. For PCB holders, insulation flanges and test fixtures.
Burr-Free Surfaces
With single-flute end mills and optimized parameters, we produce plastic milled parts with clean, burr-free edges.
No Post-Cleaning
Since dry machined, no parts cleaning is needed. Plastic milled parts come ready-to-install from the machine.

Precision for Plastic Milled Parts
Dimensional Tolerances from IT7
Tighter tolerances than IT7 are possible with plastics, but require adjustment for the material's spring-back behavior.
Surfaces to Ra 0.8
Plastics deliver good surfaces directly from the mill. Ra 0.4 achievable with polished tool edges.
Dimensional Stability
Through adapted clamping and low cutting forces, we minimize distortion even for thin-walled plastic parts.
Threads in Plastic
Metric threads, thread inserts (Helicoil) and press-in fittings. For soft plastics we recommend threaded bushings.

Questions about Plastic Milled Parts
Q1Which plastics can be CNC milled?
All machinable engineering plastics: POM, PA 6/66, PEEK, PE-UHMW, PTFE, PVC, PVDF, PC, PMMA (acrylic) and fiber composites (GRP/CFRP). Material selection depends on temperature, chemical resistance and mechanical requirements.
Q2What do plastic milled parts cost?
Plastic milled parts are generally cheaper than metal parts, as cycle times are shorter and no coolant is needed. Simple POM parts from approx. €15, 40/piece (single part), PEEK parts from approx. €50, 150. Unit costs drop significantly in small series.
Q3Why is plastic dry-milled?
Coolant (cutting fluid) can attack, swell or contaminate plastics. Dry machining prevents this. With PEEK and PA, low thermal conductivity is the challenge, we solve this through optimized cutting parameters and sharp single-flute end mills.
Q4Can PEEK milled parts be manufactured?
Yes, PEEK is excellently machinable but requires specialized tools with positive cutting geometry and adapted feed rates. We manufacture PEEK milled parts for medical technology (biocompatible), aerospace and chemical industries.
Q5Are plastic milled parts food-safe?
Yes, PE-UHMW and POM are FDA-compliant and food-safe (EU 10/2011) as standard. For other plastics, we advise on the right material choice. Since dry machined, there are no coolant residues on the parts.
Q6What tolerances are possible for plastic milled parts?
Standard tolerances from IT7 are reproducibly achievable. Tighter tolerances require consideration of spring-back and thermal expansion of the plastic. We advise on economically sensible tolerancing.
Q7Can threads be cut in plastic?
Yes, metric threads work excellently in POM and PA. For softer plastics (PE, PTFE), we recommend thread inserts (Helicoil) or pressed-in metal bushings for durable screw connections.
Q8What is the minimum order quantity for plastic milled parts?
From 1 piece, prototypes, single parts and custom orders as well as small series (100+ pcs). For larger quantities, we check whether injection molding would be more economical.
