Surface finishing
From raw part to finished component: we coordinate every surface treatment for your CNC parts. Anodising, nickel plating, black oxide, hardening and more, all from one source.
Surface treatment for CNC parts: anodising, hardening, nickel plating, black oxide and passivation through our partner network. One contact, one order, and you receive the finished part ready to install.
What is surface treatment?
Surface treatment covers every process used to finish, protect or functionally improve a component surface. Depending on the requirement it optimises corrosion protection, wear resistance, electrical conductivity or appearance.
As a CNC manufacturer we coordinate the whole process chain: from machining through surface treatment at certified partner companies to final inspection and dispatch. You receive finished parts, ready to install, from one source.
Surface processes
We organise the right process for your requirement: corrosion protection, appearance or function.
Anodising
Electrochemical oxidation of aluminium. Coloured or clear. Layer thickness 5 to 25 µm. Corrosion protection and a decorative surface.
Nickel plating
Electroless or electrolytic. Even layer thickness on complex geometries too. High corrosion and wear resistance.
Black oxide
Chemical blackening of steel. Thin conversion layer (1 to 2 µm). Decorative, with temporary corrosion protection.
Hardening
Case hardening, tempering, induction hardening. Targeted hardness increase for wear loaded functional surfaces.
Chromate conversion
Passivation of aluminium and zinc. Clear, yellow or black. Corrosion protection to DIN EN 12487.
Zinc plating
Electrolytic zinc plating with passivation. Blue, yellow or black. Economical corrosion protection for steel parts.
Everything from one source
Complete service
CNC machining and surface treatment as one package: one contact, one order, one delivery.
Certified partners
Our partner companies are certified to ISO 9001 and to sector specific standards. Traceability guaranteed.
Dimensional accuracy
We allow for coating thickness during CNC machining, so tolerances still hold after the coating is applied.
Advice
Which process fits? We advise on the selection, taking material, load and budget into account.
Quality control
Incoming and outgoing inspection for every surface treatment. Layer thickness measurement and visual check.
Economical
By bundling orders to our partner companies you benefit from good rates without minimum quantities.
Typical areas of use
Corrosion protection
Anodising, zinc plating, nickel plating or chromate conversion protect your parts from environmental exposure, from mild to extreme.
Wear protection
Hardening, nitriding or hard nickel plating extend the life of functional surfaces such as bearing seats and guideways.
Decorative surfaces
Coloured anodising, polishing or black oxide for visible components with a high quality look.
Functional surfaces
Defined roughness, low friction layers or electrical conductivity. We match the surface to your function.
Frequently asked questions
Q1Do you carry out the surface treatment yourselves?
CNC machining happens in house. Surface treatments are carried out by certified partner companies. We coordinate the whole process.
Q2Which surfaces suit aluminium?
Anodising (clear or coloured), chromate conversion, electroless nickel or powder coating. The choice depends on the load and the look you want.
Q3How are tolerances held with a coating?
We allow for the coating thickness during CNC programming. Fitting surfaces are masked before coating where necessary.
Q4Can you have single parts coated too?
Yes, we coat from 50 pieces. By bundling with other orders the cost stays economical.
Q5How long does surface treatment take?
Surface treatment typically adds 1 to 2 weeks on top of CNC production. Faster treatment by arrangement.
Q6Do you provide test certificates?
Yes. Layer thickness measurements, adhesion tests and works certificates to EN 10204 can all be provided.
