Aluminium turned parts in series
Light, corrosion resistant series parts in aluminium, quick to machine, anodisable and 65% lighter than steel. Ideal for runs from 10 pieces.
65% lighter than steel
Aluminium has a density of just 2.71 kg/dm³, less than a third of steel at 7.85 kg/dm³. At identical geometry, aluminium saves 65% of the weight.
On top of that, aluminium machines around three times faster than steel. That means shorter machine times and therefore lower unit prices in series.
The right alloy
6082 T6 is the all-rounder: good strength, good machinability, anodises well. For high strength applications we recommend 7075 T6 (aerospace aluminium), twice as strong as 6082.
The choice of alloy determines strength, corrosion resistance and surface quality. We advise which alloy suits your application best.
Advantages of aluminium series
Lightweight
65% lighter than steel at good strength. Ideal for moving components, automation and transport applications.
Fast machining
Aluminium can be cut at high cutting speeds. That shortens cycle time and brings the unit price down.
Anodisable
Anodising (type II/III) for corrosion protection and colour. Hard anodising (type III) for wear resistant surfaces up to 60 HRC.
Corrosion resistant
Aluminium forms a natural oxide layer. For outdoor applications the natural corrosion resistance is often enough.
Recyclable
100% recyclable without loss of quality. Aluminium chips are collected and sent for recycling.
Versatile
From housings through axles to sensor mounts, aluminium turned parts for machine building, electronics and automotive.

Frequently asked questions
Standard: 6082 T6 (AlMgSi1), good strength, machines well, anodises well. High strength: 7075 T6 for aerospace, not weldable. Seawater: 5083, the best corrosion resistance.
The material costs more per kilo, but machining is considerably faster. On runs from around 20 pieces the shorter cycle time can still bring the unit price below that of steel.
Yes, threads in aluminium are standard. For higher loads we recommend stainless thread inserts (Helicoil), which we fit directly.
We supply the parts finish turned and coordinate anodising with our partners. Clear, colour and hard anodising are all possible. The parts reach you fully anodised.
The same tolerances as in steel: down to ±0.01 mm. Aluminium is in fact slightly easier to machine and reaches very good surface quality (Ra 0.4).
Aluminium often works out cheaper than steel because the cycle time is considerably shorter. The exact price depends on geometry and quantity.
