CNC prototypes
Functional prototypes in the production material, CNC milled or turned. From prototype to series: same material, same machine, same quality.
CNC prototypes: functional samples in the production material, typically in 3 to 5 weeks. Ideal for engineers who want to test fits, surfaces and material behaviour on a real part before releasing the series.
Fast iterations
CNC prototypes allow real functional testing in the production material. Something does not fit? We change the NC program and produce the next version quickly.
Unlike 3D printing, CNC prototyping gives you a part with the same mechanical properties as the later series part: same material, same tolerances.
From CAD to the finished part
Our process: drawing review and feasibility check, NC programming, CNC machining, quality control and dispatch. Standard lead time is around 3 to 5 weeks; talk to us if you need it faster.
Unlike injection moulding or casting there are no tooling costs. You pay for the machining only, which makes CNC prototypes economical even as one-offs.
Why CNC prototypes?
Production material
Prototype in the same material as the series: steel, stainless, aluminium, titanium. Real mechanical properties.
No tooling costs
No moulds, no tooling, no tool amortisation. You pay for the machining only.
Series tolerance
Tolerances down to ±0.02 mm. The prototype holds the same dimensional accuracy as the later series part.
Easy changes
CAD change? New NC program, new part. Iterations are straightforward because no tooling has to be modified.
Load bearing
CNC prototypes carry full load. Unlike 3D printed parts they can be tested under real conditions.
Documentation
On request: 3.1 material certificate and inspection report for prototypes too, for regulated sectors such as medical and aerospace.

Frequently asked questions
Single parts typically run between 100 and 500 euros, more for very complex or large parts. The price depends on material, complexity and tolerances. No setup surcharge, programming is included.
Standard lead time is around 3 to 5 weeks, depending on complexity and current capacity. For urgent requirements we offer express production, so do get in touch.
CNC prototypes when you need the production material, tight tolerances, or mechanical load testing. 3D printing when the geometry is extremely complex (lattice structures for example) or only the shape needs checking.
Yes, we produce both turned and milled parts as prototypes. 3-axis and indexed 5-axis milling for housings, plates and complex geometries.
Two to three iterations are typical. The first version shows whether the basic geometry works. The second optimises tolerances and details. The third is usually ready for series.
A STEP file with a drawing (PDF) is ideal. But sketches, an existing part to measure or CAD screenshots are enough as a starting point. We are happy to advise on the design.
