CNC parts for food processing

Hygienic CNC parts in stainless steel, designed free of dead space, electropolished and suitable for direct food contact to EHEDG guidelines.

CNC parts for food processing: stainless 1.4404/1.4571, FDA compliant surfaces at Ra 0.8 µm or better, crevice free designs. Documentation to HACCP, from valve bodies to dosing nozzles.

Surface

Surface finish decides the hygiene

In food processing, surface roughness is directly tied to cleanability. The smoother the surface, the fewer bacteria can settle and the easier the part is to clean.

The standard for food contact is Ra 0.8 µm. For dairy and pharmaceutical work we aim for Ra 0.4 or better, reached by fine turning followed by electropolishing.

Hygienic design

Free of dead space to EHEDG

Dead spaces are areas where product residue and germs can collect. On food processing parts we design every geometry so that no dead corners arise in the first place.

All transitions are made with minimum radii (R ≥ 3 mm), sealing faces are ground flat and bolted joints are designed hygienically. No gap for anything to lodge in.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Standard: 1.4404 (316L), corrosion resistant, acid resistant, readily weldable. For dairy and pharma: 1.4435 (higher molybdenum content). Free cutting 1.4305 only for parts with no product contact.

EHEDG (European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group) sets guidelines for hygienic design: no dead space, smooth surfaces (Ra 0.8 or better), no crevices, radii of 3 mm and above. We design your parts along these principles.

Electropolishing (EP) is an electrochemical process that smooths and passivates the surface of stainless steel. It removes micro burrs, improves corrosion resistance and reaches roughness values down to Ra 0.2.

Yes. We produce valve bodies and cones in 1.4404 with sealing faces down to Ra 0.4. The geometry is executed free of dead space so that CIP (cleaning in place) reaches every surface.

3.1 material certificate as standard, inspection report on request, surface roughness measurement with report, and where needed a declaration of conformity to EU 1935/2004 (food contact regulation).

Around 20 to 40% above standard stainless parts, driven by the higher grade material (1.4404 instead of 1.4301), tighter surface requirements and electropolishing where it is needed.
