CNC Contract Manufacturing
Your reliable partner for precision machining — from single parts to series production at the highest quality. ISO 9001-certified CNC contract manufacturer from Northern Germany.
What is Contract Manufacturing?
In CNC contract manufacturing, a specialized shop takes over the machining of workpieces on behalf of the customer. You provide the drawing or 3D model, and we manufacture the parts on our CNC machines.
This saves you the investment in your own machines, personnel and expertise. You benefit from our experience, machine park and flexibility — whether single part, small batch or series production.
Unlike in-house manufacturing, there are no fixed costs for machine maintenance, tooling procurement and staff. You only pay for the actual parts produced and can scale your production capacity without investment risk.
Contract vs. In-House Manufacturing
The direct comparison shows: CNC contract manufacturing offers you maximum flexibility at calculable unit costs — without the fixed costs of your own machine park.
| Criterion | Contract Mfg. | In-House Mfg. |
|---|---|---|
| Investment | None (€0) | €250,000 – 1M+ |
| Personnel Costs | Not applicable | Skilled staff required |
| Flexibility | 1 – 10,000+ pcs/lot | Capacity-dependent |
| Maintenance & Setup | Included | Own responsibility |
| Technology Access | 3-axis to 5-axis | Own machines only |
| Scalability | Instantly scalable | New investment needed |
Why Contract Manufacturing?
Contract manufacturing offers you maximum flexibility with minimal capital commitment. No machine park, no specialized staff, no maintenance — and still precision at the highest level.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1What is CNC contract manufacturing?
CNC contract manufacturing means a specialized facility handles the machining of workpieces on behalf of a customer. The client provides drawings or 3D models, and the contract manufacturer produces the parts on their CNC machines. This saves high investment costs and provides access to modern manufacturing technologies such as simultaneous 5-axis machining.
Q2What quantities are possible in contract manufacturing?
From single parts and prototypes to small batches (5–500 pieces) and large series with 10,000+ pieces per lot. Thanks to bar feeders and automated manufacturing, contract production is particularly flexible in capacity adjustment.
Q3How long does manufacturing take?
Standard lead times are 10–15 business days from order confirmation. Express production is available from just 5 business days. The exact delivery time depends on complexity, quantity and material availability.
Q4What materials can be machined?
All common metals: structural steel (S235, S355), quenched & tempered steel (42CrMo4, C45), stainless steel (1.4301, 1.4404), aluminium (AlMg3, 7075), brass, copper, titanium and special alloys (Inconel). Plus engineering plastics like POM, PEEK, PA6 and PTFE.
Q5What does CNC contract manufacturing cost?
The unit price depends on material, complexity, tolerances and quantity. For one-offs, programming costs are allocated per piece; for series, unit costs decrease significantly. Request a non-binding quote — we calculate within 24 hours.
Q6What is the difference between contract and job-shop manufacturing?
The terms are often used interchangeably. Strictly speaking, in contract manufacturing the client provides the material; in job-shop manufacturing, the manufacturer procures the material. At Strobel Industry, we offer both — material can be customer-supplied or sourced by us.
Q7Which CNC processes does Strobel Industry offer?
CNC turning (up to Ø300 mm), CNC milling (3-axis and simultaneous 5-axis up to 700 mm), grinding, drilling, threading and deburring. All processes possible in a single setup, including complete machining on lathes with live tooling.
Q8Can surface treatments be ordered together?
Yes, we coordinate anodizing, zinc plating, nickel plating, hardening, powder coating and passivation with certified partners. The finished component arrives fully machined and coated.
Q9Do you offer blanket orders and call-off agreements?
Yes. For recurring series, we offer blanket agreements with fixed unit prices and flexible call-off quantities. This secures capacity and planning certainty without tying up warehouse space.
Q10How flexibly can contract manufacturing respond to capacity peaks?
Very flexibly. With a broad machine park and flexible shift scheduling, short-notice capacity expansions are possible. During bottlenecks, we activate additional shifts; express orders are prioritized.
